4 Aug Upcoming activities schedule in Shanghai Our Shanghai participants are in for a great time during the weekends this coming month with our packed activities calendar. At Go Abroad China, it is our mission to deliver activities and electives that are meaningful and valuable enough so that participants don’t feel like their time and resources have gone to waste. Invitations will soon be going out to such candidates as those doing the Jiaotong University Chinese Language program. Shanghai is a modern financial city and a great location to be able to socialize in; our pre-arranged activities will include outings to the downtown city area with a GAC guide, our clients doing internships in marketing for example will be able to benefit from meetups in Shanghai, where they can meet foreign professionals working in Shanghai and get inspired to carve out their own paths too. Other options include visiting cultural places such as the City God Temple to get some cultural exposure; we will watch a heritage show and get a chance to go see the Shanghai Museum and learn more about the Chinese history and background. Although the cost of living in Shanghai might be slightly higher than that of Beijing, Shanghai offers a whole different atmosphere compared to Beijing. We already have some nice Chinese families who are well equipped to be hosting homestay students; this is going to be a great opportunity for those looking to fully get immersed in the Chinese culture; you get to see first-hand how average Chinese people live. If you are studying the language, you will have people to practice Chinese with you everyday when you get home after class and in the evening.
