28 Dec Skiing in Nanshan The name ‘Nan shan’ roughly translates to southern mountains in English. This is the location of our fun skiing session this coming winter season. The Nanshan ski resort is in Beijing, an hour or more away from the city center, but nestled in some hills on the very outskirts of the city. This is one of the best ski resorts in Beijing, it has moderate and easy slopes for those who will be learning how to ski or snowboard, and then additional steep slopes for confidents skiers. The popularity of Nanshan ski resort in Beijing not only attracts Chinese people, but foreigners alike, this is why Go Abroad China will be going out to ski with our participants doing the Chinese internship program. We would like to show these clients a fun time during the cold winter in Beijing; why stay indoors when you can go out and have fun in the snow? Our clients going to school for their Mandarin Chinese lessons will also get to come along as we want to invite everyone that makes up the Go Abroad China family. Because our programs for international students in Beijing are so intense, this is going to be great opportunity to spend the day out on the slopes and playing with snow for a day. Many people when they think of Beijing only really refer to the city areas, where they can shop and go out for night time entertainment. This time around however, our foreign visitors will get a chance to see the mountains of Beijing. As a matter of fact, many people do not realize the topography of Beijing; the city is actually surrounded by mountains areas especially towards the northern borders. As a GAC pre-planned activity, transportation to the resort will be provided, candidates will have to rent their own ski equipment when they get there. Meeting other Chinese people there will be a great chance to practice conversational Chinese and mingle with new friends out in the countryside.
